VPro V10 and V12 Users

Octane2 VPro V10 and VPro V12 require IRIX 6.5.10m and IRIX 6.5.10f with patch 4103. The appropriate patch is installed on the system disk with your new Octane2, and a CD copy (P/N 812-0974-003) is included with this shipment.

Note: As a result of installing patch 4103, your IP30 PROM version will be 4.5 or later, a requirement for VPro V10 and VPro V12 support.

VPro V10 and VPro V12 support more timing modes than those listed in the Silicon Graphics Octane2 Workstation Owner's Guide.

VPro V6 and VPro V8 Users

IRIX 6.5.10f or IRIX 6.5.10m is required.

If you currently use VPro V6 or VPro V8 and you upgrade to VPro V10 or VPro V12, ensure that your front plane includes XBow 1.4. VPro V10 and Vpro V12 require a front plane with XBow 1.4. If you have not verified that your Octane system has the correct front plane version, before you upgrade to VPro V10 or VPro V12, type the following in a UNIX shell and note the Xbow ASIC revision number:
